1950 - 1990
1959 Lisa McPherson is born in Texas.
1973 Lisa's 16-year-old brother commits suicide.
1977 Lisa learns about Scientology from a co-worker and becomes a member.
1983 Lisa's father commits suicide.
1989 Lisa joins Scientology's elite Sea Org, signing a billion-year contract committing her to many lifetimes of service.
1994 - 1995
1994 Lisa earns more than $135,000 in her sales job at AMC Publishing and donates over $55,000 to the Church of Scientology.
June 1995 Lisa suffers a psychotic break.
September 7, 1995 Lisa attests to the Scientology status of Clear.
November 18, 1995 Lisa is involved in a minor traffic accident. She removes her clothes and walks down the street. Paramedics take her to the hospital, where Scientologists sign her out and take her to Scientology's Fort Harrison Hotel.
December 5, 1995 Lisa is pronounced dead at the New Port Richey Hospital.
December 6, 1995 Clearwater Police begin an investigation into Lisa's death.
1996 - 2001
December 1996 Clearwater newspapers begin covering the story of Lisa's death.
February 19, 1997 Lisa's estate (her remaining relatives) file a wrongful death suit against the Church of Scientology.
November 13, 1998 The State of Florida files two felony charges against the Church of Scientology, indicting them for abuse or neglect of a disabled adult and unauthorized practice of medicine.
June 12, 2000 The State of Florida decides not to prosecute the felony charges against the Church of Scientology.
August 3, 2001 Dr. David Minkoff, a Scientologist who prescribed medication for Lisa without seeing her first and who attended her death at New Port Richey hospital, is fined and has his medical license suspended for one year.
